Doylestown Shopping

Head to the business district of Dushore in Sullivan County, along Route 220 in the Endless Mountains, for unique places to shop for the holidays — many that offer items made in Pennsylvania. The gift shop at Artisan Alpacas offers warm wool scarves, gloves, sweaters and other accessories, handcrafted from the warmest wools shorn from local alpacas (whom you can meet on your visit!). Nearby Winterland Winery features award-winning local wines, and the Jolly Trolley is a mountain lover’s paradise for great shopping, offering everything from candles and quilts to clothing and artwork.  

Ligonier in the Laurel Highlands is a quaint town with more than 60 specialty shops and restaurants. Head down Main Street, circling a stately bandstand that serves as the hub for the town’s special events. You’ll also find Second Chapter Books, featuring new and used books and a gift shop with bath products, candles, chocolate, Tea Forte clothing, jewelry, children's books, toys, and much more!

Saxonburg in Butler County is a charming shopping destination featuring German architecture and quaint shops. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Saxonburg features 32 buildings that are more than 100 years old and now offer the best shopping. Stop at Curds and Molds Fromagerie and many other picturesque shops before enjoying a holiday lunch at the historically beautiful Hotel Saxonburg

Downtown Doylestown is a bustling collection of independent stores that are sure to provide a unique and memorable shopping experience. Stop by the Doylestown Bookshop or funky apparel shop Monkey’s Uncle. Choose from many delectable and healthy lunch spots, like Genevieve’s Kitchen and Maxwell’s on Main. A great place to stock up on Christmas trinkets is Byer’s Choice, Ltd., located in nearby Chalfont. Home of the famous Carolers® figurines, Byer’s Choice features a life-size London Street you can stroll through, as well as the opportunity to watch skilled artisans craft figurines by hand.

There is no shortage of ways to spend a day on Broadway, the main street in historic Jim Thorpe. The street, built over water, is lined with Victorian-style 19th-century architecture. Broadway is home to clothing stores, antique shops, art galleries, jewelry, and craft stores as well as  a variety of unique restaurants. The Inn at Jim Thorpe, one of many bed and breakfasts in the area, is also located on Broadway. The historic bed and breakfast’s proximity to the shops and restaurants makes Jim Thorpe an ideal getaway any time of year.
