One of 26 museums and historic sites on the Pennsylvania Trail of History and administered by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, this museum depicts the military history of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, emphasizing the 20th century roles of Pennsylvania based units and of Pennsylvanians who have served in all branches of the armed services. Recently rebuilt, a new exhibit depicts the collection of arms and vehicles and telling the stories of the men and women who used them. In honor of their service during World War's I and II, the grounds are home to the 28th Division Shrine, created by the 28th Division veterans. An attractive walking path, some larger artifacts and memorials to Pennsylvania's military heritage are found throughout the expansive grounds.
