Philadelphia Zoo is home to nearly 1,300 animals, many rare and endangered. Cheetahs, hippos, giraffes and much more make the Zoo Philadelphia's leading family destination, welcoming over 1.3 million visitors a year.
The Zoo offers a first-in-the-world animal travel and exploration trail system that enables primates, big cats and -- with the newest extension, Gorilla Treeway -- gorillas, to travel above and across visitor pathways beyond their traditional habitat.
From April 11-October 31, 2015, experience Second Nature, an unconventional art exhibit exclusively at Philadelphia Zoo. Featuring larger-than-life animal-inspired sculptures, Second Nature tells stories of endangered species through recycled, reduced, reused and repurposed materials in a way that has great scale and whimsy to it.
Award-winning exhibits like First Niagara Big Cat Falls, McNeil Avian Center and KidZooU make Philadelphia Zoo a must-visit destination for guests of all ages.
