Pennsylvania has much to offer the history enthusiast. After all, this is where our nation was born, where the Civil War's biggest battle happened, and where the modern labor movement began. There are so many historically significant places here, you might just lose track of time.
Great Weekend in Milford
Submitted By: ChelseaGuy
Great weekend in Milford. Saw Hudson River paintings at the Hotel Fauchere and stayed o/night. Incredible:Great food, huge photo of John Lennon & Andy Warhol in the bar. Saw Grey Towers, a 19th c. Normanesque chateau at the edge of town that was Gifford Pinchot's home. Also checked out the blood-stained Lincoln Flag at the Columns Museum, which was moving. The town is extremely charming, well-landscaped, most of it is an historic district.Galleries, antiques, shops.A return trip is in order.
Gettysburg
Submitted By: Glen
My son is in Iraq now but one of the last things we did as a family before he left was go to Gettysburg for the 145th anniversary. We get to Gettysburg fairly often. In fact, when he gets home he wants to go back. On the last day there we took one last stop to Little Roundtop by the Warren statue. It was a little foggy but got a great picture wish I could have posted it.

Trip to Old Bedford Village
Submitted By: Rose Dube
We took a family vacation to Bedford. We camped out at Shawnee State Park. It was a four generation camping experience. My mother (82) my sister and I (late 50s), my son (34)and his wife and their three daughers (10,8&3). I made little outfits for the girls to dress to see Old Bedford village. We also visited the covered bridges, the 9/11 memorial, Gravity Hill, fish hatchery, and a few other sites. It was very inexpensive. The girls enjoyed Old Bedford the most.
