Don't forget your camera. Hundreds of species of birds call Pennsylvania home and there is plenty of wildlife too. The natural beauty of small towns and country surround us and winter brings with it crisp air and the peacefulness of snow covered trees, streams and trails. With a keen eye, and a good set of binoculars, perhaps you will spot a snowy owl or one of our four legged friends of the forest like rabbits, deer and possibly a flying squirrel.

Ohiopyle State Park

Ohiopyle State Park, south of Pittsburgh, is great. You can whitewater raft on the Youghiogheny River, hike the 70 mile Laurel Highlands Trail, or bike the 300 mile Great Allegheny Passage rail trail from Pittsburgh to D.C. Loved the natural water slides in Meadow Run & Cucumber Falls, a beautiful waterfall with ice cold water that feels great after a day of hiking. And Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater, is close by.
Bull Elk vs Archery Target
Submitted By: Dan
It's that time of year and the Bull Elk are getting frisky. Here is a young bull in Elk County that took his anxiety out on an archery target. He proudly carried it around for a while. Take a trip and see the sights and sounds of the PA Wilds and the elk. You won't be dissappointed.

Beauty and charm in the northeas

The Pocono Mountains are all around us—great hiking, biking, you know, outdoorsy stuff. Just off 407 is Lake Lackawanna. You can fish, swim, picnic. It's beautiful. But my choice would be Lake Wallenpaupack. Best lake in PA, if you ask me.
A trip along beautiful Route 6

Before you start, have some of our mulberry pancakes. They're delicious, and trust me, you'll need the energy.
