Memorial Day at Raccoon Creek State Park
Submitted By: Rasheda
This is amazing park, there is so much do here. I had a wonderful time here of Memorial Day Weekend (09') camping at the Raccoon Creek State park campground, hydrobiking on the lake, hiking around the Mineral Springs, hiking in the Wildflower Reseve and spotting tons of animals!
Ice Heaven!

A nice winter day took us to go snowshoeing across the creek from our guest cabins at Wapiti Woods. To our surprise and amazement, we found a treasure trove of ice hangings and sculptures in the railroad tunnel in Caledonia (built in the 1870's). The seepage from the mountain cascading through the old stonework in the tunnel provided the perfect venue for mother nature to massage. We just had to watch for falling ice. It is simply amazing what one can find when getting "out 'n' about."

Take the kids to Penn's Cave for a water ride through an old cavern. It's America's only all-water cavern and wildlife park!
