With our first snow already on record we are certainly in store for more of the white stuff. It’s a winter playground in Pennsylvania whether your preference is downhill and tubing at one of our many ski resorts and mountains or the slower pace of cross country and snowshoeing in our state parks and forests. So load up the car, bring your friends and enjoy your favorite winter sport.

Ice Heaven!
Submitted By: Wapiti Woods
A nice winter day took us to go snowshoeing across the creek from our guest cabins at Wapiti Woods. To our surprise and amazement, we found a treasure trove of ice hangings and sculptures in the railroad tunnel in Caledonia (built in the 1870's). The seepage from the mountain cascading through the old stonework in the tunnel provided the perfect venue for mother nature to massage. We just had to watch for falling ice. It is simply amazing what one can find when getting "out 'n' about."
Skiing in PA

With the holidays over I need to plan some fun. I'll be taking my family on an extended ski weekend to Sno Mountain and Elk Mountian. We'll stay at a great hotel in Clarks Summitt called the Inn at Nichols Village. It's so clean and big and the staff is super nice. Great deals with the local hotels and restaurants. I love that it's just a short ride from Philadelphia, at only a fraction of the cost to ski in Vermont. The slopes are fantastic! Try White Lighting on Sno.
