Quest for Freedom

As you travel the scenic highways of PA, you will find an abundance of historical and cultural experiences waiting to be discovered through the Quest for Freedom’s Two-Station Vacations. We’ve planned a series of itineraries including Philadelphia to Lancaster, Lancaster to Gettysburg, Chambersburg to Carlisle and Pittsburgh to Erie. Each provides a unique blend of history, culture, leisure, and hospitality.

There are more than 40 official National Network to Freedom sites across the state just waiting to be explored. And, along the way, the Pennsylvania Past Players – featuring such historical figures as Thaddeus Stevens, Lydia Hamilton Smith, Frances Harper and Thomas Chester – can bring the Civil War and Underground Railroad eras to life by serving as docents, walking tour and step-on guides, welcome teams and living history interpreters.
