  • Crystal Cave
    Famous Crystal Cave Park is absolutely amazing. This natural underground attraction near Kutztown has been visited by millions since it was first discovered in 1871. Exploring caves is both fun and educational, so it's perfect for the family. Underground tours and other attractions. Daily March 1st from November 30th. Call for a free brochure. An ice cream parlor and an affordable, one-of-a-kind miniature golf course is also on location.
  • Valley Forge State Forest
    Valley Forge State Forest features natural areas and hiking trails. Spend the day taking in the glories of nature.
  • Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom
    Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom is a family-oriented, amusement and water park with over 100 rides and attractions. From high speed world-class roller coasters like Hydra The Revenge, Talon, Steel Force, and ThunderHawk to soaking wet water slides, you're sure to enjoy a day spent at the park.

    2006 Season: open weekends beginning May 6; Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom are both open daily beginning May 27.

  • Union Canal Towpath and Walking Trail
    Come out and bike, hike, run or walk along the Union Canal Towpath all year round. Along the trail, which parallels the Tulpehocken Creek and extends from Reber's Bridge to Stonecliffe in the Berks County Parks System, you can see wildlife such as fish, birds, turtles as well as flowers and trees native to this area.

    You can also visit historic sites along the trail, including a restored lock once used on the Union Canal and a beautiful covered bridge. The Berks County Heritage Center is open for tours of the Gruber Wagon Works and C. Howard Canal Center through October, and Gring's Mill is decorated with Holiday Lights November and December.
  • Lost River Caverns
    Guided walking tours through beautiful crystal formations. See the Lost River, a magical underground waterway. On display are a colorful array of fluorescent minerals, illuminated by ultraviolet light. Stop by the picnic grove, museum and gift shop.
