November Events and Festivals in Pennsylvania

It’s time to take advantage of lower temps and burgeoning fall foliage to hit the road and explore! You can pursue your own fall happiness in Pennsylvania, whether it’s chowing down at a classic seasonal festival, getting in some early holiday shopping, reflecting on historical milestones, or running from the undead.

1. Fire and Ice Grand Opening Celebration

Celebrate the start of the 2019 winter season at the Rothman Orthopaedics Ice Rink and Rothman Orthopaedics Cabin! A fire and ice-themed festival will dazzle visitors young and old as firework effects and synthetic snow fly overheard. A figure skating performance, hand-carved ice sculptures and festive décor will add fun and flare to this already enchanting event.

2. Holiday Showcase at Reading Terminal Market

3. Lake Erie Wine Country Harvest Weekend

4. Harmony Museum’s Annual WeihnachtsMarkt

5. TASTE! Festival of Food, Wine, & Spirits

6. Zombie Fun Run

Experience the thrills of being chased by bloodthirsty zombies during the Zombie Fun Run in Mountville. Run through mud, crawl over obstacles, and jump through fire and man-made obstacles. Try the course during the day or run it under the stars for a more intense experience.

7. The National Dog Show Presented by Purina

Paws up for the National Dog Show Presented by Purina, the most widely viewed dog show in the nation. If you’re a dog enthusiast, make the trip to Oaks for two days of athletic dogs, family-friendly activities, and hands-on fun.

8. Gem Miner’s Holiday Gift Show

Kick off your holiday shopping at the Gem Miner’s Holiday Show in Lebanon. This show features more than 50 vendors and artisans who offer a unique selection of gems, minerals, fossils, beads, jewelry, art, and crafts, as well as on-site services like gem-setting and wire-wrapping. Shop one-of-a-kind gifts and handmade treasures or purchase supplies to craft your own gifts this year.

9. Dedication Day

Each November since 1938, the Lincoln Fellowship of Pennsylvania has commemorated Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address and rededicated Soldiers’ National Cemetery. The day begins with wreath-laying ceremony at the Soldiers' National Monument, followed by the Dedication Day program. Harry Truman, Dwight Eisenhower, Shelby Foote, Carl Sandburg, Doris Kearns Goodwin, Stephan Lang, Sandra Day O’Connor, Ken Burns, Stephen Spielberg and others have spoken at the ceremony. Lincoln portrayer George Buss will recite the Gettysburg Address.

10. “It’s a Wonderful Life” Parade and Festival

Celebrate the most wonderful time of the year in the Christmas Tree Capital of the World - Indiana County, PA! The holiday fun kicks off in Downtown Indiana on Friday, November 22 with the "It's A Wonderful Life" Parade and Festival, the lighting of the 32-foot live Christmas Tree, and Santa's arrival. Festival Activities begin: 5:00 PM - includes marshmallow roasting, hot cocoa, hayrides, live music, crafts, and more!

11. Greater Pittsburgh Arts & Crafts Holiday Spectacular

Get a head start on (or wrap up!) your holiday shopping with a trip to the 22nd annual Greater Pittsburgh Arts & Crafts Holiday Spectacular. From decorations and ornaments to cinnamon roasted almonds and fudge, you’ll find yourself surrounded by all things holiday cheer. Don’t forget to bring your camera and take your child's photograph with Santa and Mrs. Claus!

12. Overly’s Country Christmas

Make a new holiday memory at Overly’s Country Christmas! Explore the Christmas Village filled with an array of old-fashioned traditions and treats, sing carols ‘round the bonfire, revel in the model train display, have your picture taken with Santa, take a horse drawn wagon or sleigh ride or shop for gifts in the General Store.

13. Great Brews Beer Festival

14. 6ABC Thanksgiving Day Parade

Did you know America’s first Thanksgiving Day parade was held right here in the Keystone State? Be wowed by festive entertainment, including Disney characters, fancy floats, giant balloons, and marching bands along Philadelphia’s iconic Benjamin Franklin Parkway.

15. 30th Annual Beaver County Christmas Extravaganaza

Come celebrate the holidays at the 30th Annual Beaver County Christmas Extravaganza! Outdoor attractions include Elf Land - Specialty Outdoor Themed Islands, a unique walk through Outdoor Light Show, Horse/Pony Rides, Local Chain Saw Carver, plus many more attractions. There is also the North Pole Cafe, Candy Cane Gift Shop, Santa Land, and Gingerbread Houses Display. Special guests like Rudolph, Frosty, the Chipmunks, the Grinch, will make an appearance!
