Celebrate LGBTQ Pride at these 9 Pennsylvania Events in 2019
June is International Pride Month, and what better way to celebrate than with fun-filled parades and festivals? Pennsylvania and its vibrant LGBTQ communities invite you to join the festivities, share your pride, and pursue your happiness at these fun iconic events. If your June is already booked, no worries! Pennsylvania is celebrating Pride all summer long!

1. NEPA Rainbow Alliance Pride

NEPA Rainbow Alliance has something for everyone!. Take part in the alliance’s first pride parade, March to the Park on July 13. On parade day, walk or run the 5K in support of the region’s LGBTQ community and take in the entertainment, food, local vendors, and the annual drag show.

2. Lancaster Pride

Join the celebration of Lancaster County’s LGBTQ and ally communities at Lancaster Pride’s 12th annual Festival on July 20. This year’s event will take place at Clipper Magazine Stadium in downtown Lancaster and includes live performances, plenty of arts and crafts and pride regalia to purchase, and a wealth of delicious food options.

3. Reading Pride Celebration

Show your pride and enjoy a fun-filled day at the 13th annual Reading Pride Celebration 2019 festival on July 21. The festival takes over Reading’s Centre Park and features exciting live performances. The inviting atmosphere and diverse crowd is inviting to everyone.

4. Pride Festival of Central PA

Enjoy a variety of live performances, street vendors serving up delicious local food, and a whole lot of fun at Soldier’s Grove Memorial Park on July 27. The 27 Annual Pride Festival of Central PA is ramping up to be the best event yet, with magnificent performers vying for their spot on the main stage during the event.

5. Pride Franklin County

August 4 marks the second annual Pride Franklin County celebration being held at The Orchards in 2019. The event will incorporate traditional pride elements and activities including a beer garden for visitors 21 and older, drag performances by local entertainers, a kids’ area sponsored by Creative Minds Learning & Development Centers, and a food truck corner.

6. Equality Fest York

Also on August 4 is Equality Fest York, which is free and open to the public. The festival features speakers, music, dance, theater, poetry, spoken word and performance art. Plus, don’t miss the live visual art, strolling performers, a fully interactive children’s area with games, workshops and activities, retail vendors, informational and organizational displays, and a variety of international foods.

7. Pride in Erie

The NW PA Pride Alliance has a slew of fun events celebrating the region’s LGBT community. The fun continues on August 10 when all are invited to the 2019 Pride Picnic, then bring friends and family to the final event of the season at the 2019 Pride Day at Waldameer Park & Water World for a day guaranteed to make you smile!

8. Pride Picnic at Knoebels Grove

On August 10, prepare for a day of pride celebration and fun at the largest free admission amusement park in America. The 25th Annual Pride Picnic at Knoebels Grove brings the LGBTQ community together with a free picnic, speakers, information tables, door prizes, and raffles. Attendees are encouraged to bring a covered dish to share and wear red. Also, don’t forget to meet up for the “Gay Ride of the Day!”

9. Pride in the Park

Be sure to save the date on August 18 for Allentown’s Pride in the Park 2019 celebrating achievements and progress made in and by the area’s LGBT community and beyond. Enjoy the LGBTQ Artist Promenade featuring artists and crafters, a DJ Tent with dance floor, Project SILK Teen Space designed by and for teens, and The Pride Pub featuring locally brewed beers and crafted mead. Many festival favorites are returning, including the wine bar, drag bingo, and the Kids Space for those under age 14, along with 150+ vendors and some top-notch entertainment.

Cost: $5, children ages 12 and under free, youth 14-21 can earn a free ticket to pride through participation in Project SILK
