At Coral Caverns’ underground wonderland, explore the only known fossilized coral reef cavern in existence and discover an abundance of fossils, stalactites, and stalagmites. The most visited cave site in Pennsylvania, Crystal Cave is known for its profuse, varied, and natural wonders. Trained guides lead visitors through an array of spectacular calcium crystals and pillar formations. Concrete walks and steel railings ensure safety while descending 125 feet underground during an educational and exciting tour. Located off Route 22 near Kutztown, the 125-acre site and museum offers a shop and cafe for all travelers. 

Indian Echo Caverns - Dutch Country Roads

Cut through Beekmantown limestone, which is over 440 million years old, the Indian Echo Caverns were formed through the erosive properties of water. Explore the limestone caves with a 45-minute tour, available for every age, while professionally trained interpretive guides explain the geology, history, and natural formations of the caverns. Visitors can pan for gemstones at Gem Mill Junction, enjoy the gift shop, or picnic on the grounds. Close to Hershey attractions, Indian Echo Caverns is located on Middletown Road in Hummelstown.

Laurel Caverns - Laurel Highlands

Come up for the view, then go down for spelunking in the Laurel Caverns. Situated beneath a 435-acre privately-owned geological preserve, the cave itself is the largest in Pennsylvania with a three-mile labyrinth. From its observation deck on a clear day, you can see the Pittsburgh skyline, as well as five other counties. Laurel Caverns is located off Route 40 between Uniontown and Farmington.

Spend the day at Penn’s Cave enjoying an array of tours at America’s only all-water cavern and wildlife tour. For a unique tour, visitors can take the Prospector Pete's Miners Maze, a 4,800-square-foot maze of twists, turns, and check-points. The exciting, off-road Cave Rock Mountain Tour is a fully-guided two-and-a-half-hour adventure that takes visitors from the cave rock to the mountain top over obstacles, moguls, and ravines by Jeep® while climbing to the spectacular mountain vista. Penn’s Cave also offers a 90 minute guided tour by bus of 1,600 acres of carefully preserved wildlife. Penn’s Cave is located 18 miles east of State College and five miles east of Centre Hall on Route 192.

Discover two separate incredible caverns, Lincoln Caverns discovered in 1930 and Whisper Rocks discovered in 1941 near Raystown Lake. A wide variety of speleothems (cave formations), including delicate crystals, sparkling stalactites, and massive flowstones await around every turn. Lost River Caverns - Lehigh Valley

Lost River Caverns is a natural limestone cavern that was discovered in the late 1800s and opened for tours in 1930. Experience the wonder of abundant crystal formations, an underground river, and five unique chambers at the Lost River Caverns. Guided walking tours last 30 to 45 minutes and cover approximately 1,200 feet of paved, well-lit walkways. Tour highlights include the Crystal Chapel, which has hosted dozens of weddings since 1949, and the Lost River. Lost River Caverns is located in Hellertown, south of Bethlehem off I-78 at Exit 21.

Woodward Cave - Pennsylvania Wilds

Known as “The Big One,” Woodward Cave’s nickname reflects its five spacious rooms, one of which is 300 feet long. One of the most prevalent caverns in Pennsylvania, it features the 14-foot “Tower of Babel,” the largest stalagmite in Pennsylvania. During a guided tour, see the Ballroom, actually used for square dances and banquets, and the Square Room, home to delicate and rare Helictites and cave coral. Woodward Cave is located in Centre County off Route 45.
