Connellsville, located at mile 88 on the Great Allegheny Passage, was once the king of coal and coke and the town's former industrial might can be detected by the stately buildings in town (one is the Carnegie Library, where there's free Internet access). The Great Allegheny Passage passes through the west end of town and Yough Park on the banks of the Youghiogheny River. An 11 stop heritage trail begins at Crawford's Cabin in the park. A kiosk in the park identifies a number of local businesses.
