The Shoehouse is an architectural wonder that was built in 1948 by Mahlon Haines, "The Shoe Wizard." This giant structural advertisement is modeled after a high-topped work shoe and is a full complete house inside. Visit the Shoehouse and experience the optimism and enthusiasm that abounded during the past-World War II era and learn more about the flamboyant York County legend, Mahlon N. Haines. The summer hours are: Wed thru Sun 11:00 to 6:00. Call for other seasonal hours. We are open year round and will be happy to do group tours to fit your schedule.
