The vibrant and rich history of Tobyhanna Township comes alive through a driving tour of the famous Historical Markers of Tobyhanna Township, located along the scenic roads of the Poconos. Starting with the first road built by the Continental Army in 1779, this drive through history encompasses 25 significant sites, events, people, schools, churches, resorts, camps and industry that developed the Poconos and our wonderful community. Along the way, visit the beautiful natural areas of Tobyhanna Township and experience why the Poconos are such a treasure. The Tour website features an interactive tour map with GPS locators for each Marker. Upon your visit to each Historical Marker, use your smartphone or tablet to scan the QR label mounted to the Marker pole. This scan will immediately access the Marker's website page, providing access to more details of the historical story told on the Marker, with photographs, documents and links.
