Civic is a professionally staffed community arts center, offering the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, the best in theatre, arts education, film and more. Recent examples from the stage: the community theatre world premieres of Tony Kushner's Angels in America and James Joyce's The Dead; the classic American dramas Death of a Salesman and The Glass Menagerie; and Lehigh Valley premieres of the musicals The Who's Tommy, Stephen Sondheim's Follies and Merrily We Roll Along, and the offbeat musical hit Falsettos. Every December, we stage the Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol, a beloved part of the Lehigh Valley's holiday tradition. Between shows, they host the 19th Street Film Series, featuring independent and international films that you can't see anywhere else in the Valley. There's also a Civic Theatre School for young actors in grades preK-12, a world premiere and staged readings series, and a whole lot more.
